A Funeral for a Loved One

I am also qualified in Funeral Celebrancy, Grief and Trauma.  In the sad times of losing a loved one, a Celebration of Life helps to recognise the wonderful memories that are held dear.

In the event of the loss of a family member, the Funeral Director is  contacted to arrange the funeral.   The Director has a bank of Celebrants, from which he draws the service of a Celebrant.

However, you may prefer to contact a Celebrant first, and inform the Director that you have engaged a Celebrant. Which ever you decide, the cost of a celebrant is either individually incurred  or added into the total cost of the Funeral.

I can personally assist you in planning the Funeral for a loved one.  I can help you plan a Eulogy, readings and special music, that will create a loving way to say "Farewell" with dignity.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please contact me with any questions regarding any of my services.  I have included this section as a quick reference for your convenience.  Many questions are asked about Wedding Ceremonies.

Where to from the initial phone call?

Through the initial phone contact, we will chat about details of the type of ceremony, whether wedding, naming day, vow renewal, commitment or funeral. We will set a day and time for first interview, location of your ceremony, celebrant availability, your contact details, your witnesses, any Statutory Declarations you will need, the necessary documents you need to bring to the initial interview, total fee and deposit required to bring with you to the interview, or to have ready if I come to you.

 Minimum age to marry?

Without parents’ or court approval, 18 years old.  Under 18, you need to have court authority and the permission of either of your parents.

How do we plan and time the ceremony?

This takes time and communication between you and me.

Totally up to you. About 20 to 30 minutes depending on what you would like to include, i.e. readings and music, weather or  unexpected obstacles.

If I want anything of spiritual or religious nature in my ceremony, is there any objection?

It is your ceremony, if you want religious pieces, that is what you will have.

Fee structure?

There are recommended guidelines in structuring fees.  Consider the cost of your Wedding Reception,Wedding attire and gifts, the Ceremony fee would be the least cost of all.  It also depends on the ceremony, whether it is a Wedding, Vow Renewal, Commitment, Naming Day or Funeral.  A Wedding Ceremony has quite a lot of legal work connected, and more to be completed after the ceremony, so there is a higher fee.  This is usually discussed and agreed upon, through the initial phone contact.  On initial interview, a $100 non-refundable deposit is required, with all ceremony bookings.

My witnesses are both 18 years old?  Is this a problem?

No, that is the minimum age of a witness.
